Sandra Jorgensen’s eerily empty tunnel flooded with fluorescent color is executed with hard edge precision. The dramatic use of perspective creates a highly formal composition with a strong emphasis on geometry.
Jorgensen served as curator of the Elmhurst College Art Collection from 1973–1999, was a professor of art for 30 years and the long-time chair of the art department. The remarkable Elmhurst College Art Collection is to a great extent an expression of her connoisseurship and vision.
